Job Description

Temporary full time from May 1, 2026 to Nov. 30, 2026Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers. Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery. Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment. Adjust, repair, and install farm machinery, gates and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Operate ag equipment such as dozer, backhoe, ditcher, weed burner. Direct and monitor the activities of work crews engaged in planting, weeding, or harvesting activities. Operate towed machines to irrigate crops. Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers. Irrigate soil, using portable pipes or ditch systems, and maintain ditches or pipes and pumps. Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Set up and operate irrigation equipment. Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to irrigate soil. Clean work areas, and maintain farm grounds and landscaping. Regulate outdoor irrigation systems. Maintain and repair irrigation systems. Dig and cut trees and shrubs. Maintain inventory, ordering materials as required. Move containerized shrubs, plants, and trees, using wheelbarrows or tractors. Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures. Duties include repairing farm gates and fencing used for agricultural field operations, checking and maintaining crop field infrastructure, constructing and repairing farm structures used in support of crop production, pouring cement for agricultural improvements associated with field operations, and using hand tools such as shovels to prepare and maintain crop fields and agricultural work areas. All duties described above occur exclusively at the listed crop farm worksites and are performed in direct support of agricultural operations and the cultivation, production, and harvesting of crops. Farming with Corn, barley, wheat, hay, sugar beets.Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Must be able to work independently. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Certain roles may require a valid drivers license within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record for operating company vehicles. Referrals will be accepted from the State Workforce gencies (SWAs), directly from applicants, walk-ins, gate hires, and from other sources. SWAs should thoroughly familiarize each applicant with the job specifications and terms and conditions of employment before a referral is made. Workers must meet all of the following criteria:1. Are available and indicate willingness to work the entire season.2. Have transportation to job site at start of season. Transportation costs will be reimbursed. NYStatement3. Have been fully apprised by the local employment office of the terms, conditions, and nature of employment.4. Are legally entitled to work in the U.S.5. Are able, willing and qualified to perform the work.Worker must possess documentation required to enable employer to comply with the employment verification requirements of IRCA. Accurate completion of Form I-9 will be required of each worker within (3) days of employment pursuant to U.S. Law. Employer will abide by the requirements and assurances of 20 CFR 653.501 in the processing and/or hiring of individuals referred through the clearance system.
