Senior Professional Research Assistant Requisition Number: 70646 Location: Boulder Colorado Employment Type: Research Faculty Schedule: Full Time Posting Close Date: 15-Apr-2026 Date Posted: Job Summary The Senior Professional Research Assistant/Laboratory Manager will have a variety of responsibilities overseeing administrative, human resource, undergraduate mentorship, and scholarly aspects of a portfolio of federally funded transdisciplinary research studies. Who We Are We are a motivated team that conducts transdisciplinary research on health and risk behavior with a current focus on exploring both the harms and benefits of Cannabis use in a number of populations ( ). What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be + Proactively engage and stay up-to-date on our Center's research and related research in the field. Help to provide scientific mentorship to junior team members + Contribute to all aspects of grant applications at every stage including development of new submissions, revised submissions, progress reports for ongoing projects, and grant closeout. Facilitate submission of materials to CU's Office of Contracts and Grants for submission to NIH and coordinate with both the pre-award and post-award offices. Monitor developments in grant administration within CU and at NIH. + Monitor budget projections for externally funded studies, maintaining spending tracking sheets, reporting monthly spending trends to PIs, devising short- and long-term spending goals/strategies + Serve as contact person for all grant sub-contracts where CUChange is either the prime awardee or the sub-awardee. Ensure all sub-contracts are executed efficiently and accurately + Application review, phone screening, in-person interviews, and coordination with departments and human resources for all team member hiring + Onboarding, training, performance review, and ongoing human resources including mentorship, planning team building events, and conflict mediation + Liaison to administrative staff in two departments and collaborators from other departments and institutions, Institutional Review Board, Research Computing, and other entities + Supervision of our Center's undergraduate program, including student orientation, independent study positions, independent research projects, and outreach to underrepresented students and diverse departments (e.g., computer science, integrative physiology, etc.) + Management of the Center's media presence including multiple websites, Instagram, team and PI photography What We Can Offer Starting Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 per year. What We Require + A Master's degree in psychology, integrative physiology/kinesiology, human neuroscience or a related discipline, or a bachelor's degree and four years of experience in psychology/neuroscience/biomedicine + Managerial experience including being able to problem solve personnel issues, remain flexible and level-headed in times of stress, and ensure the completion of all research procedures while appropriately managing and delegating tasks to employees with different work styles + Experience in human participant research and the scientific method, familiarity with NIH-grant funded research (preferably two years or more post-bachelor experience) + Outstanding interpersonal skills, positive attitude, attention to detail, strong written and oral communication abilities, and organizational/multi-tasking skills + Ability to work maturely, respectfully, and collaboratively with a variety of people - professional research assistants, undergraduates, graduate students, volunteers, and the Principal Investigators (Drs. Cinnamon Bidwell and Angela Bryan) + Able to proactively identify personal areas of professional growth and seek training, mentorship, or other support as needed + Proficiency across Microsoft and Google Suites and citation software What You Will Need The ideal candidate has outstanding communication skills and will serve an overarching organizational role across numerous projects within multiple administrative units. Experience in a managerial capacity, the ability to multi-task and problem solve across multiple teams, and an interest in contributing to a dynamic research program is highly valued.
