Security Officer III

Job PurposeNational Grid is seeking a highly competent Security Officer to join our team to monitor our premises and protect our valued staff. As a Security Officer, you will need a sharp eye with quick reaction time in the detection of any suspicious or criminal behavior, and prevention of theft or vandalism. Key Accountabilities Secure our premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, and access points. Investigate security breaches, incidents, and other alarming behavior Guard access points, permitting or refusing entry, restraining trespassers, and direct heavy traffic during start and end of business hours Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.Qualifications Previous law enforcement experience 15+ years (municipal, state or federal) Concealed gun permit for NYC with the ability to carry a firearm Able to stand, walk, climb ladders or steps during an 8-hour shift or irregular shift Able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds Pass post offer hearing and vision assessment Valid driverAAAs license with satisfactory driving history, per individualized assessment Strong verbal and written communication skills.
