Typical projects include the design and installation of structural steel platforms, conveyor support structures, elevated walkways, industrial steel storage rack and shelving, and custom designed products for large distribution centers.Manage a team of up to three direct reports.Offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and advancement.Essential FunctionsServe as lead engineer on medium to large projectsDesign functionReview awarded project scope, specifications, and available budgetsDevelop conceptual 3D structural layouts using RevitCoordinate with other disciplines to optimize structure layouts and features to seamlessly integrate structures with mechanical equipment and the buildingPerform preliminary analysis on structural frame to establish steel profiles; incorporate into preliminary 3D structural layoutsPresent preliminary layouts to Client for review, further design iterations and conceptual approval; ensure structure designs are optimized to support Client operational needsDevelop and document final structure drawings for formal approval using Revit and AutoCADCoordinate with designated Engineer-of-Record to finalize structure frame design for permitting and constructionExecution functionProject scheduleWork with Project Management to establish and track key milestonesEnsure material procurement and detailing activities are timed to meet onsite date requirementsProject budgetMonitor engineering progress and material purchasing commitments to maintain project budgetsRaise awareness to change order conditions as scope evolves over project life cycleDevelop cost estimates for change order conditions as neededSteel detailing coordinationConduct and document project handoff to detailing teamMonitor detailing progress to ensure timely releases to structural fabricationCheck fabrication details for fitment, completeness and adherence to project specificationsTravel to jobsites occasionallyManages a team of up to three direct reportsTrains and reviews the work of Structural Engineers and Structural DesignersEducation and Experience RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural EngineeringPreferred 7 years of engineering experiencePreviousmaterial handling or structural steel detailing experience a plusPreviousmanagement experience a plusKnowledge, Skills and Abilities RequirementsProficient inRevit andAutoCAD,working knowledge of Microsoft Office, experience withAdvance Steela plusAbility to handle multiple project assignments and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced results-oriented environmentAbility to learn the material handling business andassistacross teams and divisionsAbility tointerface effectively within-house and external customers, vendors, consulting engineers, architects, and installers.Strong verbal and written communication skillsStrategic thinking and problem-solving skillsTeam-oriented and collaborativeSelf-motivated and detail-orientedAbility to learnnew technologiesMust be able to speak,readand understand the English languageBenefit InformationMany great benefits to include Health/Vision/Dental/401k with match/Pet InsuranceFSA/HSAEmployee Assistance ProgramEOE Minorities/Women/Disabled/VeteransFederal ContractorIf you need assistance applying to an open position online, please email $95,000.00USD $115,000.00
