This role is accountable for meeting quality, schedule, and cost objectives aligned with company strategic goals.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport development of long? and short?term operational plans, policies, and objectivesDelegate responsibilities to assistant managers and provide leadership across scheduling, production, maintenance, staffing, and trainingMonitor operations through staff meetings, direct observation, and regular communication to ensure optimal use of personnel, equipment, and facilitiesManage manufacturing budgets, including labor, materials, and subcontracting costsDrive a Six Sigma and lean manufacturing culture: lead kaizen and 5S initiativesMaintain on-time delivery performance of 95%+ and communicate customer requirements clearly across teamsIdentify and resolve manufacturing issues; implement corrective actionsServe as liaison between management and supervisors to ensure consistent communication of policies and decisionsParticipate in labor relations as a management representativeEnforce safety policies and promote a zero?incident cultureOversee training, safety, housekeeping, and cost?reduction programsMaintain proper staffing levels; recruit and select supervisory and hourly personnelSupport company quality processesEffectively communicate all actions and performance to upper management through verbal and written communication, PowerPoint presentations, and logs.Perform additional duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or equivalent experienceMinimum of 5 years of plant management experience with strong supervisory capabilitiesEffective interpersonal, leadership, problem?solving, and time?management skillsExtensive experience in manufacturing operations and knowledge of industry practicesWork EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee works in typical manufacturing environment with overhead cranes and forklifts.Overhead LED lights throughout the workspace create a bright workspace for employees to safely perform their work.Normally clean work environment where the process creates some grinding dust, heat/cold, fumes/odors, and vibration.Housekeeping is performed as needed throughout the day and at the end of each shift.Noise levels are consistent with manufacturing operations; annual audiometric testing is provided.The facility is heated in the winter and ventilated with fans in the summer.Required EquipmentSafety?toe shoes or bootsSafety glassesDaifuku offers an excellent compensation package including great benefits such as excellent medical, vision, and dental insurance, paid vacation time, paid sick time, and paid holidays, 401K, Flexible Spending Programs, and more.
