Kimley-Horn's Oakland office is seeking a Environmental Planner with 2+ years of experience to join their Environmental Planning team! This is not a remote position.Prepare Environmental Quality Act documents, environmental impact reports, and negative and mitigated negative declarationsAssist in Specific Plans, Master Plans, and other environmental or planning policy documents in support of a full range of infill and/or land development related projectsPerform a variety of tasks, supporting various project managers and collaborating with team members.Will likely gain expertise in: Sustainability, climate action planning, ENVISION, LEED, and Salmon-SafeEnvironmental clearance associated with local comprehensive plans/local land use planningWorking with infrastructure projects from across industries such as transportation, transit, land planning, aviationDegree (Bachelors or Masters) in EnvironmentalPlanning (or other degree applicable to the planning field)2+ years ofexperience conducting environmental studies for local agencies and private entitiesAmerican Institute of Certified Planner (AICP) Certification PreferredExperience with a wide range of tasks related to environmental planningUnderstanding of the agencies involved with the Environmental Quality Act process as well as the state's Land Planning LawExperience with NEPA compliance is a plusStrong writing/verbal skillsWorking knowledge of GIS/ArcViewExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal skillsPositive attitude and a strong work ethicStrong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlinesDetail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environmentAbility to work independently and as a teamSalary Range:$95,000 to $125,000At Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
