Job Description

The Senior Paralegal assists leaders on the Legal/Compliance team by performing a variety of legal and/or legal support duties, including reviewing and responding to employment related matters, assisting Operations, Closing and Post Closing when legal or contractual interpretations arise (e.g., reviewing trusts, divorce decrees, leases, stock compensation, title commitments, etc.), conducting legal research, preparing and reviewing pleadings, contracts and other documents, assisting with title related issues, and tracking and responding to subpoenas and other discovery requests. This role requires 100% onsite attendance in our Pontiac office.Reviewing and responding to legal documents including pleadings, EEOC and similar claims, contracts, judgements, leases, trust agreements and assignmentsReviewing, monitoring and responding to subpoenas and other discovery requestsResearching and analyzing statutes, regulations, judicial decisions, legal articles and other relevant informational sourcesHandling guideline issues that have legal nuances, including trusts, leases, and stock compensation issuesPreparing written correspondence with outside counsel and other third-parties, including responses to complaintsEnsuring compliance with policies and proceduresEditing legal documents for accuracyProviding training to Paralegals on the Legal/Compliance teamAssisting with issues related to MERS, servicing, marketing reviews, settlement agent oversight, title claims and other title related issuesSupporting with licensing issues and regulatory filingsOther duties as assignedMust Have Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certificate4+ years of recent experience as a Paralegal.Experience performing legal researchKnowledge of the litigation and subpoena processKnowledge of the contracting process and standard elements of a contractHave a commitment to continuous business improvementTitle or employment law experience is a plusOnsite attendance requiredReady to join thousands of talented team members who are making the dream of home ownership possible for more Americans?
