Supply Chain Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY: The Supply Chain Supervisor is responsible for all operational activity including order entry, load planning, and load monitoring. The Supply chain Supervisor will supervise salary associates, and is responsible for performance management. Actively involved in the hiring process as well as customer interactions. SHIFT: Monday thru Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm Major Responsibilities: u2022 Lead team of salaried employees (includes: performance review, corrective action, and goal setting) u2022 Provide detailed instruction to various personnel via email and phone u2022 Act as first level escalation for customer inquires u2022 Assist in new customer implementations u2022 Prioritize time sensitive situations u2022 Work with team in scheduling deliveries to receivers and providing excellent customer service u2022 Ensuring customeru2019s KPIu2019s are hit on a daily and weekly basis u2022 Track shipments to ensure on time delivery is met u2022 Handle rate negotiations with carriers on a spot rate basis u2022 Analyze process data and work on continuous improvements u2022 Identifying cost savings opportunities for the customer u2022 Ensuring all business needs are covered including when there are vacations, illness, etc. u2022 Other projects as assigned by the manager QUALIFICATIONS: u2022 2 - 5 years of experience in the logistics / supply chain industry u2022 High School Diploma or equivalent required u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree strongly preferred u2022 Previous experience in a supervisory role u2022 JDA Transportation Management System experience preferred u2022 Must have strong attention to detail and effective communications skills u2022 Strong customer focus u2022 Must be skilled in Problem Solving / Process Improvement. u2022 Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time sensitive situations u2022 Advanced desktop computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook required u2022 Must be able to learn and regularly operate various computer systems across different platforms u2022 Ability to lead and develop team of salaried associates u2022 Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers as well as Penske personnel u2022 Team player with flexibility in working different shifts u2022 Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job u2022 Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening Physical Requirements: -The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
