Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Los Altos, California. This Contract to permanent position requires an individual with a strong background in general accounting, excellent analytical abilities, and the capacity to manage complex bank reconciliations efficiently. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to critical financial processes, including month-end close and cash management. Responsibilities: u2022 Perform detailed and manual bank reconciliations across multiple accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness. u2022 Manage cash activities and record transactions in alignment with accounting standards. u2022 Collaborate with various departments during month-end close to ensure all financial activities are accurately recorded. u2022 Utilize Excel and other tools to gather and analyze financial data for reconciliation purposes. u2022 Maintain and update the general ledger, including journal entries and account adjustments. u2022 Communicate effectively with internal teams to address discrepancies and provide financial insights. u2022 Apply strong analytical skills to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement in accounting processes. u2022 Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures while handling day-to-day transactions. u2022 Support financial reporting by providing accurate reconciliations and documentation. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in performing complex bank reconciliations. u2022 Proficiency in general ledger management and journal entries. u2022 Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures and cash management. u2022 Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously. u2022 Effective communication skills to collaborate with departments and resolve accounting issues. u2022 Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices. u2022 A minimum of two years of experience in general accounting roles.
