Job Description The Project Engineer III provides advanced technical leadership across new product development, customer facing sustaining engineering, cost and quality improvement initiatives, and cross functional program execution. This role serves as a key technical focal within an integrated engineering team, guiding design efforts, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, coordinating development activities, supporting fabrication and testing, and contributing to certification and entry into service. The position also interfaces with suppliers, supports audits, drives process improvements, and represents the organization as a subject matter expert. Main Responsibilities: u2022u2003Lead technical execution of new product development programs and ensure alignment with customer requirements and procurement specifications. u2022u2003Coordinate all phases of development: proposals, hardware design, fabrication support, qualification testing, certification, EIS, and sustaining engineering. u2022u2003Lead small cross functional teams and manage task delegation across the internal development group. u2022u2003Ensure designs meet customer, industry, and regulatory standards. u2022u2003Review, approve, and provide input on engineering drawings, documents, and analytical outputs. u2022u2003Prepare and deliver technical project status updates for internal stakeholders and customers. u2022u2003Establish and defend program advantageous technical positions. u2022u2003Identify and execute cost reduction, quality improvement, and cycle time reduction initiatives. u2022u2003Interface with suppliers to ensure technical clarity and compliance. u2022u2003Support or lead internal and external audits (e.g., quality system audits). u2022u2003Serve as a recognized technical subject matter expert and support new business opportunities and customer relationships. u2022u2003Facilitate cross functional communication and ensure project transparency. u2022u2003Understand organizational strategy and identify new business opportunities. u2022u2003Interpret and decompose customer requirements, including incomplete or evolving requirements.
