What You'll Do (Responsibilities): Responsible for preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions, Recommends solutions to problems, and meets schedule and quality requirements in addition to the following responsibilities. u2022 Complies with the terms of local and national labor agreements u2022 Implements divisional and corporate policies u2022 Implements safety and good housekeeping practices u2022 Frequent contact and collaboration with others outside of the work group u2022 Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment u2022 Participates in the selection of new employees u2022 Trains, develops and evaluates employees u2022 Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project u2022 Leads technical guidance for complex and unusual plant operations or projects u2022 Assists in the development of budgets and forecasts within assigned area u2022 Obtains a deep knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles Additional Job Description: Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications): u2022 Previous leadership/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment u2022 5+ years of experience within high-volume manufacturing environment u2022 Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence u2022 Ability to interpret technical documentation (schematics, blueprints, machine manuals) What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): B.S. in Engineering (other technical disciplines may be considered if: 5+ Years direct technical knowledge & experience in manufacturing industry) u2022 Working knowledge of cost counsel activities Prior Manufacturing Engineering or Maintenance assignment & working relationship with IUE and Union employees Familiarity with GM Global Manufacturing System (GMS) and Lean Manufacturing principles GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
