The Senior Accountant role will be focused on day-to-day operational and accounting activities within Accounts Payable, with a focus on the vendor setup process, anti-corruption, and payment processing. This role requires a foundational understanding of accounting principles including assurance to enterprise and industry compliance standards. This role will also be responsible for supporting ad-hoc projects/requests related to enterprise initiatives. Responsibilities + Identify and resolve invoice/payment/vendor setup inquiries and issues including contacting internal and external partners as needed to resolve. Activities include but are not limited to: + Serve as issue spotter, helping to resolve sophisticated invoicing and payment issues. + Review vendor requests for completeness, accuracy, ensure compliance with vital approvals. + Track and supervise vendor creations and updates in SAP and Apex vendor portal for domestic and international vendors. + Process scheduled/out-of-cycle payment runs accurately and timely along with corresponding reporting. + Review vendor setups and invoices from anti-corruption perspective to ensure compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and company policy. + Complete controls to ensure adherence to (1) departmental standards, (2) Sarbanes Oxley requirements and (3) Anti-Corruption policies and regulations. + Complete testing work for special projects, technical enhancements and ad-hoc analysis related to accounts payable processes. + Assist with various audit requests. + Identify areas of opportunity and recommend solutions for achieving optimal efficiency and effectiveness. Qualifications + High attention to detail coupled with analytical and auditing skills + Problem solving and dealing with new/unique situations on a frequent basis + Cross-functional teammate with professional and strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate one-on-one with customers under various conditions + Conducts all work in an ethical, honest, professional and confidential manner + Ability to complete tasks in a thorough, composed, accurate and timely fashion while leading multiple, contending priorities in an agile environment + Ability and willingness to tackle additional responsibilities + Self-motivated, self-starting and a creative problem solver + Continuous improvement / process improvement focus Education & Experience + Bachelor's Degree in Business Accounting, Finance, or Related Major + 3-5 years' experience in accounting, accounts payable, finance or other related experience + Advanced degree or equivalent experience, CPA or MBA an asset + Previous experience with SAP beneficial + Knowledge of banking processes and terminology preferred + Strong PC skills.
