Indirect Tax Manager - Public

Description Indirect Tax Manager ( hybrid 2 days on site ) to join our manufacturing team in Western suburbs . In this role, you will oversee critical tax functions, including compliance, audits, and system management, ensuring the organization meets all regulatory requirements. This position requires a deep understanding of sales and use, and property tax, as well as the ability to drive process improvements and provide guidance on tax planning opportunities. For immediate consideration - please let me know if you have any questions or send your resume is .c0m 630-368-1175 Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare, review, and file tax returns in a timely manner, while managing monthly reconciliations of indirect tax accounts. u2022 Ensure accurate multi state sales and use and property tax treatment u2022 Manage and maintain Vertex tax software, including taxability rules, system updates, and coordination with external support partners. u2022 Lead initiatives to enhance indirect tax systems, working closely with IT, Finance, and vendors to ensure compliance and efficiency. u2022 Oversee exemption certificate processes, identify refund opportunities, and manage reverse audits to reduce tax liabilities. u2022 Handle state and local tax audits, including data preparation, negotiation, and resolution, while implementing corrective actions for audit findings. u2022 Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate tax implications for new products, services, and contracts, ensuring compliance and optimal tax outcomes. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is highly desirable. Proven experience with sales and use tax and background 8 plus years of experience Proficiency in tax software vertex and SAP a plus Strong knowledge of tax compliance for sales, use, and property taxes. Familiarity with entity formation and tax implications for business operations. Ability to manage tax audits and controversies effectively. Skilled in leveraging technology to streamline tax processes and improve accuracy. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to guide internal teams on tax-related matters.
