Job Title: DCS Operator - 3rd shift Job Description We are seeking dedicated DCS Operators to join our team at a manufacturing plant in Vonore, TN. As a DCS (Distribution Control Systems) Operator, you will play a crucial role in managing the production processes from the control room. You will be responsible for monitoring and controlling various computer screens that regulate all chemical, water, and raw material processes for production. Responsibilities + Actively manage DCS loops to control critical processes and equipment in the plant. + Optimize processes and maintain production stability through system adjustments. + Focus on safety protocols and ensure operational compliance. + Troubleshoot and respond to alarms effectively. + Identify and resolve process deviations and address upsets and emergencies swiftly. + Regulate multiple process variables to ensure safe and reliable operations. + Serve as first-line incident control during emergencies and coordinate with field operators. + Communicate process changes, problems, and incidents to supervisors and key personnel. + Ensure all processes and equipment operate within safe and legal limits. + Record critical operating data, compile reports, and maintain logbooks for transparency. Essential Skills + Prior experience as a DCS Operator is desired. + Experience with control systems for valves, pressure, boilers, chemicals, and water. + Solid understanding of process control, instrumentation, and plant operations. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Ability to make decisions under pressure and in high-stress situations. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Ability to work rotating shifts and perform some manual work. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with specific DCS platforms is often required. + Attention to detail and organizational skills are crucial. Why Work Here? Initial training will be on days from Monday to Friday, 8 am-5 pm, before transitioning to the normal working shift from 7 pm-7 am. Enjoy the opportunity for overtime, with 8-36 hours available per month. The environment includes presses, blend tanks, agitators, and other equipment, with a focus on monitoring and controlling water, chemicals, pressure, and temperature in pulping tanks from the control room. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vonore, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
