Credit and Collections Specialist

Description Robert Half is recruiting for a Credit and Collections Specialist on behalf of a company in Monroe. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing customer accounts by evaluating creditworthiness, setting credit limits, and ensuring timely collections. Your ability to communicate effectively and resolve billing issues will help maintain strong customer relationships while safeguarding the company's financial health. Responsibilities: u2022 Conduct credit checks on new and existing customers to assess their financial reliability. u2022 Follow up with customers on overdue accounts and negotiate payment arrangements. u2022 Issue past due notices and account statements to ensure timely payment. u2022 Collaborate with the sales team to provide updates on delinquent and closed accounts. u2022 Present collection updates during weekly meetings to evaluate credit status and strategize next steps. u2022 Review and update accounting and sales software with accurate information on past due accounts. u2022 Minimize financial risk by maintaining a consistent and proactive approach to collections. u2022 Handle customer inquiries related to billing and payments with professionalism and efficiency. Requirements u2022 High school diploma or equivalent required; Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred u2022 Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally discuss account and payment issues with customers. u2022 Proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. u2022 Minimum of 2u20133 years of experience in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable, preferably within a dynamic business setting. u2022 Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is preferred. u2022 Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite is an advantage. u2022 Demonstrated analytical skills to assess creditworthiness and manage financial risk effectively.
