This position involves clamping, holding, tack-welding, grinding, and bolting components into position for welding, ensuring high standards of quality and precision. Responsibilities + Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. + Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications. + Develop templates and models for welding projects using mathematical calculations based on blueprint information. + Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations. + Maintain and complete all required records and production documentation. + Layout fits nozzles, supports, and couplings per blueprint into coil. + Remove rough spots from workpieces using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
