Jacobs is seeking an experienced Lead Document Controller to lead project documentation governance, workflow management, and information control for largeu2011scale thermal power generation engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects. This role is essential to ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant management of documentation across all project phases. The Lead Document Controller will implement and oversee document control processes, supporting multiu2011discipline teams, and ensuring predictable, highu2011quality information flow throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings deep experience with EPC documentation systems, strong organizational accountability, and a proven ability to manage complex document workflows in a fastu2011paced project environment.Responsibilities Implement and oversee of project document control procedures, workflows, and standards for engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning documentation. Lead the development of the same where required. Manage the receipt, review, distribution, and archiving of project documents including drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, transmittals, vendor data, turnover packages, and project correspondence. Oversee configuration and administration of electronic document management systems (EDMS) such as Aconex, ProjectWise, SharePoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or equivalent platforms. Ensure accurate metadata, revision control, document numbering, and version management across all project files. Coordinate with internal engineering teams and external 3rd parties to track deliverables, manage design revisions, and ensure timely submission and approval of technical documents. Support construction teams by maintaining upu2011tou2011date field documentation, redlines, asu2011built drawings, ITRs, QA/QC records, and mechanical completion packages. Collaborate with commissioning teams to manage system turnover documentation, test records, equipment manuals, logic diagrams, and final acceptance packages. Maintain strict compliance with project requirements, client standards, regulatory documentation needs, and internal Jacobs quality procedures. Generate document status reports, deliverable trackers, overdue logs, and performance metrics for project leadership. Train and mentor document control staff and subcontractor personnel on document control processes and EDMS usage. Interface with client representatives, OEMs, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth document flow and timely approvals. Support audits, project closeout, and longu2011term archival of project documentation in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements. #LI-CC1 #epjobs #naepjobsLocation - Greenville, South Carolina preferred. However will consider any Jacobs office location NATIONWIDE Bacheloru2019s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Management, or equivalent experience in document control for large industrial or power generation projects. 7+ years of experience managing document control functions on EPC, industrial, or thermal power plant projects. Strong working knowledge of engineering and construction documentation, including drawings, specifications, vendor data, QA/QC records, and turnover packages. Proficiency with electronic document management systems (Aconex, ProjectWise, ACC, SharePoint, or similar). Demonstrated experience implementing document control workflows, revision control processes, and metadata standards. Strong understanding of EPC project execution, construction sequencing, and commissioning documentation requirements. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage large volumes of technical documentation.
