Description: JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Director of Administration II, BX17 DEPARTMENT OF STREETS AND SANITATION Bureau of Sanitation Number of Positions: 1 (Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval) Starting Salary: $83,052.00 Applications for this position will be accepted until 11:59pm CDT on April 3, 2026. Under general supervision, manages and supervises financial functions in support of the operations of a large bureau City department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES u00b7 Responsible for purchasing, finance and/or budget preparation activities in large bureau of department. u00b7 Oversees the development and administration of corporate and non-corporate budgets for departmental operations and grant funded programs. u00b7 Supervises the maintenance of accounting records and prepares financial and budgetary reports to account for revenues and fund expenditures. u00b7 Works with departmental managers in preparing and processing contracts for professionals. u00b7 Monitors the preparation and processing of purchase requisitions for the procurement of supplies and equipment and the processing of invoices for payment _Additional duties may be required for this position._ Location: 121 North LaSalle Street Days: Monday - Friday Hours: 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Eight (8) years of working experience in budgetary, human resource, or office administration, of which two (2) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position, OR Graduation from an accredited college with an Associateu2019s degree in Business or Public Administration or directly related field, plus six (6) years of budgetary, human resource or office administration experience, of which two (2) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position, OR Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration or directly related field, plus four (4) years of budgetary, human resource or office administration experience, of which two (2) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position, OR Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Masteru2019s degree or higher in Business or Public Administration or directly related field, plus three (3) years of budgetary, human resource or office administration experience, of which two (2) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position. NOTE u00b7 May be required to work late nights or weekends. u00b7 You must provide your valid Illinois State identification at the time of processing.
