JOB REQUIREMENTS: Location: Milwaukee, WI - Froedtert Hospital Schedule:Multiple FTE options available Specialties Hiring: Inpatient Rehab,Inpatient Neuroscience and Trauma/Acute Care Surgery Job Summary: TheClinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) provides expert clinical guidance,leadership, and consultation to optimize patient care across thepractice setting. In the patient sphere, the CNS applies advancedclinical expertise and evidence-based practice to support safe,high-quality care and improved outcomes. In the nursing sphere, the CNSfosters professional development, clinical competency, and practiceexcellence through role modeling, education, and consultation. In theorganizational and system sphere, the CNS drives quality improvement,interprofessional collaboration, and system-level change to enhance caredelivery, efficiency, and safety. The CNS serves as a clinical expert,consultant, and change agent to advance practice, improve outcomes, andsupport continuous improvement within the healthcare system. EDUCATIONDESCRIPTION: Master's or DNP degree in Nursing from a CNS accreditedprogram is required. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Expertise in aspecialty; excellent verbal and written skills. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:Licensure to practice nursing in Wisconsin; Certification as a ClinicalNurse Specialist required within 1 year of employment; Certificationwithin a clinical specialty area preferred (Incumbents in the positionprior to June 2011 may substitute the CNS certification requirement witha minimum of 5 years work experience as a CNS). American HeartAssociation (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS)or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days.
