Minimum Qualifications (KSAs) MSD WASTEWATER COLLECTION - ASSET MANAGEMENT Mission: To establish a partnership with colleges and universities, exposing as many students as possible to employment opportunities in the Wastewater Industry and to help them become experienced professionals in the next generation workforce. Purpose: We are seeking a coop student to join our Asset Management Section within the Wastewater Collection Division at the Metropolitan Sewer District. The primary need for this role is to support our team with entry-level analytical tasks, which are crucial for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of our asset management strategies. The coop student will assist in data analysis, visualization, and reporting, enabling us to make informed decisions on asset maintenance and improvement. This position will provide the student with valuable hands-on experience in asset management and contribute significantly to the operational goals of our division Overview: Some of the tasks will include but are not limited to the following: Some of the tasks will include but are not limited to the following: + Data Analysis:Reviewing and interpreting data related to asset management to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement. + Data Visualization:Creating charts, graphs, and other visual representations of data to make complex information more accessible and actionable for the team. + Reporting:Compiling findings into clear, concise reports that summarize key insights and recommendations for asset maintenance and improvement. + Collaborative Work:Working closely with team members to understand the context of the data and ensure accurate and meaningful analysis. + Learning and Development:Participating in training sessions and team meetings to enhance understanding of asset management practices and contribute to ongoing projects. Expectations: Through hands-on experience and collaboration with experienced professionals, the student will deepen their understanding of the data lifecycle, asset maintenance strategies, and the overall impact of their work on the efficiency and effectiveness of our asset management efforts. Learning Deliverables and Milestones: Budget:Salary of the student for the duration of the co-op term (roughly 15 weeks), computer, office space (overhead) Logistics: Co-op will be located in the Wastewater Collection Annex building on the second floor in a community cubicle. Training:The student must be trained on city policies, rules, regulations, GIS, Cityworks. Deliverables:These will be project specific. We will provide a small list of potential projects for the student to choose from to determine their primary focus for the co-op term.
