This roledirects a broad portfolio of service areas, including indoor and outdoormaintenance, custodial services, audiovisual systems, ice operations,aquatics, and facility operations, to ensure safe, high-quality, andwelcoming environments that support the wellbeing of the UW-Madisoncommunity. In this position, the director establishes and implementscustodial and maintenance standards, oversees preventative and emergencyrepair programs, and guides the planning and scheduling of maintenance,remodeling, and renovation activities. The role plays a key part incapital project support, high-dollar repair initiatives, and long-termfacility planning, collaborating closely with university and statearchitects, engineers, project managers, and contractors. The directorensures compliance with workplace health and safety expectations,manages unit budgets, and maintains strong operational systems for workorders, purchasing, and grounds projects.
