Job Description REPORTING TO/DEPARTMENT: Reports to the Manager,Electrical Engineering in the Electrical Design department ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: With direction from an engineering mentor:research, plan, design, and document electrical and electronic designsin accordance with product requirements. Designs may include printedcircuit boards, programmable logic coding, and higher-level assembliesintegrating custom and off-the-shelf components Assist in sustainingengineering tasks which include identifying Fit/Form/Function equivalentcomponents, updates to existing designs to replace obsolete parts, andupdate legacy documentation Collaborate with technicians and otherengineers to create, test, and release prototypes Test and integratedesigns into the system, in collaboration with engineering mentors andtechnicians Support Engineering and Project Management in updatingproject timetables and tracking progress CORE COMPETENCIES: PersonalExcellence Effective in communication, demonstrates professionalism atall times, and has an accurate picture of self Strengthening the TeamDemonstrates high performance standards and effectively collaborateswith the team, demonstrates a sense of ownership over assigneddeliverables, and shows a high degree of motivation toward achievingindividual and team goals Drive for Results Applies financial disciplineand a good business sense, supports change, and makes high quality andtimely decisions REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred or Desired:Experience with a printed circuit board schematic capture program andcircuit board design Exposure to working with electronic circuitrythrough coursework or other equivalent work experience Hands-onexperience with electronic test equipment, as well as some familiaritywith soldering equipment that may be utilized to fabricate prototypecomponents Experience in medical imaging design, interfaces, signalprocessing, and concepts.
