The Office of Financial Institutions is responsible for the supervision of various entities which provide financial services to the citizens of the State of Louisiana. The Office is divided into three major divisions based on general types of institutions regulated - The Depository Institutions Division, the Non-Depository Services Division, and the Securities Division. OFI is committed to developing a highly professional staff that effectively utilizes available resources and makes sound decisions. The Attorney position provides legal advice, counsel, and representation to staff regarding all programs and activities of the Office of Financial Institutions (OFI). The selected candidate will collaborate closely with leadership to provide legal guidance that ensures compliance with Federal and Louisiana law. We are seeking candidates who can manage complex legal matters while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and sound legal judgment. Successful candidates are able to interpret statutes and regulations, analyze legal risk, and communicate legal guidance clearly to non-legal professionals. This role requires the ability to work independently while coordinating with OFI leadership, staff, and external stakeholders. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: - Provides written and oral legal opinions to the Commissioner and OFI personnel designated by him - Represents OFI in all administrative proceedings and in litigation in state and federal court, including appellate matters - Processes written complaint against entities licensed, registered, or chartered by OFI and, when appropriate, refers complaints against federally supervised or chartered financial service businesses and institutions and nonu00addepository institutions to the appropriate federal agency. - Prepares drafts of proposed rules to be adopted by the Commissioner and otherwise assists designated OFI personnel in rulemaking guidance. Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The salary range for the: Attorney 2 is $28.98 - $56.86 hourly, $5,023.00 - $9,854.00.00 monthly.
