In this dynamic role, you will manage multiple statewide programs, including the State Office of Rural Health (SORH) grant, the Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility (FLEX) grant, and the Small Rural Hospital Improvement Program (SHIP) grant, while leading initiatives to expand health care services, strengthen provider networks, and promote community health system development. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with local leaders, health providers, and government officials to translate community needs into actionable strategies and policy recommendations that improve access to care. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: u00b7 Administer and direct all aspects of the State Office of Rural Health (SORH) grant, Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility (FLEX) grant, and Small Rural Hospital Improvement Program (SHIP) grant. u00b7 Develop, manage, and monitor program budgets and work plans, ensuring funds are properly allocated, expenditures comply with timelines, and budget projections are updated throughout the funding cycle. u00b7 Draft, finalize, and monitor contracts and Memorandums of Understanding, including budgetary and programmatic compliance, and approve contract invoices. u00b7 Respond to audit findings and programmatic challenges, coordinating reports and responses to auditors and federal or state agencies. u00b7 Provide consultation and technical assistance to staff and community stakeholders on grant requirements, program implementation, and best practices. u00b7 Lead statewide community health system development efforts, including assessment of local needs, expansion of clinical capacity, and development of health networks to increase access to primary care. u00b7 Serve as a principal advisor to rural community leaders and agencies, analyzing healthcare needs and supporting proposals to improve access in areas lacking medical facilities and professionals. u00b7 Supervise program staff, assigning and monitoring work, assessing competencies, providing training, and conducting performance evaluations to support individual and team development. u00b7 Monitor and track state and federal legislation and policy related to rural health, providing reports and recommendations to inform policy changes and funding priorities. u00b7 Prepare grant progress reports, performance reports, and renewal applications, analyze hospital data and outcomes, and coordinate with federal funders, including HRSA, to ensure compliance with grant deliverables.
