VP, Senior UW Manager - Energy Casualty 131859 Zurich North America is hiring a VP, Senior UW Manager - Energy Casualty to join our Global Specialties team at our office in Houston. We are also open to hiring at our offices in Denver or Chicago This is a hybrid position that will require three days per week in the office. As a member of Zurich's Underwriting management team, you will enjoy the opportunity to fully apply and hone your underwriting management and marketing skills. Specifically, you will manage a market facing underwriting unit, and aid in making appropriate underwriting decisions. In this role you will be responsible for: + Managing up to 6-8 market facing underwriters who proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities. + Identifies new growth opportunities with key distributors for areas of responsibility. + Ensure that accounts are qualified, and meet with the organization's appetite, balanced with sound business opportunity. + Along with underwriters in areas supervised, make agents/broker/customer and on-sight calls with a planned and well-prepared purpose. + Oversee negotiations of Terms & Conditions and closes deals. + Ensure cross-sell within areas of responsibility to increase product density with the account. + Provide continuous coaching on sales best practices, mentor staff to develop strong broker and client networks as related to industries underwritten by Business Unit. Basic Qualifications: + Bachelors Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Underwriting, Market Facing, Broker, Carrier or Risk Management area within the Commercial Insurance industryOR + Bachelors Degree with 20 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area within the Commercial Insurance industryAND + Experience in Energy Casualty business segment + 2 or more years of people management experience Preferred Qualifications: + Bachelors Degree + CPCU + Advanced knowledge of Energy Casualty product lines and commercial insurance industry + Experience leading and managing marketfacing underwriters + Strong Broker relationships in Energy Casualty + Excellent communication skills + Excellent skills in relationship building + Strong presentation skills + Results oriented Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to applyu2014your unique background matters to us. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposed Salary range for this position is $198,000.00 - $280,000.00, with Global Specialty Incentive Plan bonus eligibility set at 50%.
