Jacobs is seeking an accomplished Power Plant Project Director to provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and executive oversight for largeu2011scale thermal power generation projects. This role represents the highest level of project accountability, responsible for ensuring exceptional client satisfaction, strong team performance, and successful financial outcomes. Reporting directly to the Director of Projects, the Project Director leads a multiu2011discipline project organization, including the Engineering Project Manager, Senior Procurement Manager, and Construction Director. The ideal candidate brings deep experience delivering complex EPC or EPCM power generation projects, outstanding leadership presence, and a proven ability to drive predictable results across all phases of project execution.Responsibilities Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for all phases of thermal power generation projects, from early development through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover. Drive mutual success by collaboratively engaging with Jacobsu2019 wider leadership team on the program - including Executive Program Directors, Business Unit leaders, Executive Sponsors, and Steering Committees. Serve as the primary executive interface with the client for the power plant program, ensuring alignment on project objectives, performance expectations, risk posture, and longu2011term partnership goals. Lead and mentor the projectu2019s senior leadership team, including the Engineering Project Manager, Senior Procurement Manager, and Construction Director, ensuring cohesive execution and unified decisionu2011making. Establish and maintain a highu2011performance project culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. Oversee development and execution of project strategies, including contracting plans, risk management, schedule integration, cost control, and resource planning. Ensure project performance meets or exceeds corporate expectations for safety, client satisfaction, schedule adherence, quality, and financial results. Drive proactive risk identification, mitigation planning, and executiveu2011level issue resolution across engineering, procurement, and construction functions. Support major commercial negotiations, including EPC contracts, change orders, claims resolution, and supplier/OEM agreements. Provide executive oversight of project controls, ensuring accurate forecasting, cost reporting, schedule performance, and earned value analysis. Champion strong communication and collaboration across all project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, engineering partners, OEMs, and internal corporate teams. Ensure compliance with corporate governance, ethical standards, and contractual obligations. Represent the project in executive reviews, boardu2011level updates, and corporate performance assessments. However will consider any Jacobs office location NATIONWIDE Bacheloru2019s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 15+ years of experience leading largeu2011scale EPC or EPCM projects, with at least 10 years in senior leadership roles on thermal power generation or heavy industrial projects. Demonstrated success building and managing multiu2011discipline complex project organizations, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning leadership. Collaborative, agile, and resilient mindset Experience of successfully leading multiple fast-track / schedule driven projects Strong executive presence with the ability to build trust, influence outcomes, and maintain highu2011level client relationships. Proven track record of delivering major capital projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to high quality standards. Deep understanding of thermal power plant systems, EPC execution models, contracting strategies, and project risk management. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with the ability to guide large teams in dynamic and highu2011pressure environments.
