Job Title: Construction Materials TechnicianJob Description We are seeking a skilled and motivated Construction Materials Technician to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, you will perform field observations, conduct materials testing, and verify compliance with project specifications. Responsibilities + Review civil, architectural, and structural drawings and specifications to prepare for field inspections. + Document field activities, observations, and materials testing results, ensuring alignment with project requirements. + Perform field testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and masonry materials to confirm compliance with applicable industry and project standards. + Record testing results using Metafieldu00ae and other field or laboratory information management systems. + Communicate findings and updates with Construction Services, Geotechnical Project Management teams, and general contractors. + Provide guidance and training to junior technicians in testing and inspection processes. + Calibrate field and laboratory equipment in accordance with industry codes and standards. Essential Skills + Minimum of 1 year of experience in construction materials testing or inspections (soil, concrete, asphalt, and/or masonry). + Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. + Ability to lift 40u201350 lbs on a routine basis. + Professionalism and tact when working with design and construction stakeholders. + Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions. + Ability to safely navigate uneven terrain and active construction sites. + Willingness to travel for short-duration assignments. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Advanced certifications such as ACI, NICET Level II+, ICC Special Inspector, or DOT certifications. + Experience as a Field Supervisor or Supervising Field Technician is a plus. + Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, or EIT certification. Work Environment This position primarily involves fieldwork on active construction sites, with occasional tasks performed in the laboratory. You will collaborate closely with engineers, contractors, and field personnel to support quality assurance across multiple projects. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
