PURPOSE: The Line Cookis responsible for the preparation of high-quality fresh food in atimely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner. The Line Cook isresponsible for receiving and stocking product using FIFO system. TheLine Cook is prepared to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure workenvironment, while maintaining the organizational ability to identifyand act on job duties quickly and effectively. The Line Cook is preparedto work as a team member in a dynamic workplace, follow all safetyprocedures, and have a high threshold for heat in a kitchen environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position prepares food usingrecipes and menu items created by the Head Chef and helps keep thekitchen running smoothly. - Oversee stocking and setting up the kitchenstations. - Prepare food including cleaning and cutting the ingredientsand cooking main dishes, salads, desserts, and other items (e.g.,washing, trimming, cutting, grilling, portioning, mixing, baking,broiling, frying, steaming). - Work with other kitchen staff to ensurefood is completed as per the Chef's direction and on time. - Wash andclean the kitchen and cooking utensils and store the equipment at end ofshift. - Ensure kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet foodsafety standards and regulations. - Clean up station and properly storeand label leftover food and restock items as needed. - Maintain apositive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: A Line Cook plans, prepares, and cooks fooditems to ensure the highest quality of service and experience forcustomers. They keep the kitchen organized and running efficiently. Theyensure proper food handling, sanitation, and food storage procedures.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must beable to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - A minimum of 3+years' experience in a similar role. - High school diploma orequivalent qualification preferred. - In-depth knowledge of restaurantbest practices and cooking methods. - Excellent communication andorganizational skills. - Aptitude for multi-tasking. - Banquet and finedining experience preferred. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: - Previousline & grill cooking experience. - High School or GED. - 3+ yearscooking; banquets or hotel experience a plus. - Ability to take and passServSafe.
