Description We’re seeking a skilled Transmission Line Engineer to join our team in Georgia who’s ready to shape the reliability, safety, and modernization of the power grid. If you thrive in a fast‑growing environment where innovation, safety, and quality are core values, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact.Work Location & ScheduleThis role must be based in Georgia, but offers flexibility based on business needs and may include:Hybrid, remote, or regional field‑based work depending on project requirements.Site visits to transmission rights‑of‑way, construction zones, and project locations with appropriate PPE provided.Occasional travel to client sites, project meetings, and field inspections across the region.How You Will Make an ImpactDevelop PLS‑CADD and PLS‑Pole models for both new and existing transmission line designs; experience with PLS‑Tower is a plus.Conduct site visits for line inventory, hard‑spot identification, and construction coordination.Prepare existing line studies, project cost estimates, material and pole orders, construction bid packages, engineering drawings, and as‑built documentation.Collaborate with construction, environmental, real estate, permitting, and geotechnical teams; foundational design exposure is beneficial.Build and maintain strong client and partner relationships through consistent and professional communication.Provide technical guidance, perform design reviews, and support quality control across project deliverables.Assist in proposal development, including cost estimating, scope definition, and scheduling contributions.Work closely with other Power Delivery disciplines such as civil/structural, distribution, and substation engineering.What You'll Need to Be SuccessfulMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.Proficiency with PLS software, including PLS‑CADD.Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven commitment to safety and customer service.Valid driver’s license and ability to enter transmission ROWs and construction sites with appropriate PPE.Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.Preferred ExperienceMinimum 3+ years of transmission line design engineering experience.Prior utility experience, preferably with Southeastern U.S. utilities.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); CAD/drafting experience is a plus.Candidates with an E.I.T. or P.E. are encouraged to apply, though it is not required.Skills & TechnologiesPLS‑CADD, PLS‑Pole, PLS‑TowerTransmission structure loading and line designNESC and ASCE design standardsField routing, inspection, and construction coordinationMicrosoft Office Suite; drafting/CAD familiarityCompensation Range & BenefitsCompetitive estimated compensation range: $72,345-$91,300, depending on experience and prehensive benefits beginning Day 1, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.Additional benefits include:401(k) with employer contributionsPaid time off and company holidaysSafety equipment and PPE for field workReasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilitiesAbout UsAsplundh Engineering Services (AES) brings over 100 years of expertise to deliver top-notch engineering, design, planning, and testing services for transmission, distribution, substation, and renewable infrastructure markets across the U.S.An Asplundh CompanyAs part of the Asplundh family, AES benefits from extensive resources and a century of experience.
