US-Ohio-BurtonThe Operations Intern will work directly with the General Manager and site leadership to gain hands-on exposure to all functional areas of plant operations. This internship is designed to provide a holistic view of how a manufacturing business operates, with opportunities to learn across departments including safety, engineering, scheduling, purchasing, shipping/receiving, and production.The intern will support real business initiatives, assist with cross-functional projects, and participate in a structured training program aimed at developing foundational operations and leadership skills. This role is ideal for a student interested in pursuing a career in operations, supply chain, or manufacturing leadership.Internship DetailsLocation: Burton or Middlefield, Ohio (on-site)Schedule: Full-time, approximately 8:00 AM - 4:00 PMDuration: Approximately 10-12 weeks (summer)Compensation: Paid internshipDress Code: Business casual (jeans and polo acceptable)Mentorship: Direct mentorship from the General Manager and operations leadership teamWorking closely with the General Manager on day-to-day operational initiatives and prioritiesGaining exposure to multiple functional areas including:Safety and EHS processesEngineering and maintenanceProduction operationsScheduling and planningInventory ManagementPurchasing and procurementShipping and receivingSupporting cross-functional projects that impact overall plant performanceAssisting with process documentation and continuous improvement initiativesParticipating in a structured operations training program and skills matrixShadowing different departments to build a broad understanding of the businessSupporting production and operational activities as neededAssisting with data collection, reporting, and analysisParticipating in customer visits and Quarterly Business Reviews to understand the customer-facing side of operationsCompleting additional projects or tasks as assigned by site leadershipCurrently pursuing a degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related fieldStrong interest in manufacturing operations and leadershipExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA desire to learn and gain hands-on experienceStrong organizational and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work collaboratively across departmentsBasic proficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsA proactive, team-oriented mindsetHEXPOL Compounding Americas (HCA) is an essential early contributor to the global value chain responsible for the safety, quality, and performance of rubber compounding products and components used by original equipment manufacturers across a range of industries.
