Youu2019ll work side-by-side with our lead painteru2014who plans to retire within the next five yearsu2014giving you a clear path to step into a lead role as you develop your craft. What Youu2019ll Do Youu2019ll be responsible for prepping, painting, and finishing truck bodies, utility beds, and custom equipment using Single Stage Liquid Spray techniques. This is a hands-on, physical role where youu2019ll get dirty, wear a respirator, and work extensively with fiberglass and metal. Daily Responsibilities + Repair buckets and boom sections using fiberglass mesh and bonding materials + Sand, cut, graft, and blend new fiberglass into existing structures + Repaint and blend finishes with no overspray or uneven coverage + Prep metal surfaces through acid washing, sanding, and scuffing + Apply undercoating and bedliners using brush, roller, or spray gun + Tape, mask, and bag off areas to ensure clean, professional paint lines + Wash equipment before and after paint work + Climb ladders, walk on compartments, and work underneath equipment while spraying + Maintain safe work practices and sound judgment in all painting operations Essential Skills + Experience with painting, sandblasting, and surface prep + Proficiency with spray guns, polishing, and finishing techniques + Knowledge of HVLP systems and auto body painting + Ability to sand, grind, polish, and finish surfaces to a high standard Required Qualifications + Auto Body Tech degree OR minimum 1 year of auto body paint experience + Ability to lift 40 lbs overhead in any direction + Comfortable climbing, crawling, stooping, and maneuvering around large truck bodies + Physically able to stand and move throughout the entire shift Why Youu2019ll Love Working at ABM Truck Equipment Weu2019re a company that values skill, attitude, and growth.
