Construction Project Engineer (0-5+ years) Overview We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer or Project Manager to join a fastu2011growing industrial contractor specializing in largeu2011scale materialu2011handling and conveyor system projects for major parcel, postal, and distribution clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who wants handsu2011on project exposure, direct client interaction, and a clear path into Project Management. This role is supporting projects that involve building large steel structures and integrated conveyor systems inside existing facilities (no core & shell construction). Key Responsibilities + Support Project Managers in planning, scheduling, and executing industrial materialu2011handling projects + Coordinate with internal teams including design, fabrication, controls, and field installation + Serve as a dayu2011tou2011day point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and timely updates + Manage project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and tracking logs + Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and progress reporting + Travel to project sites (1u20133 trips per month, typically 1u20132 nights) to support field teams + Prioritize tasks effectively based on client needs and project deadlines + Develop the skills and knowledge required to transition into a Project Manager role Qualifications + 0-5+ years of experience in engineering, construction, or project coordination + Bacheloru2019s degree preferred - degree in Engineering (any discipline except IT) or Construction Management + GPA of 3.0+ preferred + Strong communication skills; able to articulate ideas clearly and professionally + Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities + Proficient with Excel and general computer applications + Basic familiarity with Bluebeam is a plus + Experience working with a GC, subcontractor, or engineering firm is helpful but not required + Must be teachable, curious, and willing to learn a unique niche of industrial construction + Must be interested in growing into a Project Manager role Work Environment + Office-based with regular travel to outu2011ofu2011state project sites + Laidu2011back, less formal culture (jeans and tennis shoes are common) + Energetic team with a collaborative and social atmosphere + Brandu2011new facility with topu2011tier equipment and impressive views + Projects are typically directu2011tou2011owner, requiring strong clientu2011facing skills + Work is highly specialized, technical, and more repeatable than traditional construction Perks/Benefits + 401k with 4% employer match (with 4% employee contribution) + 18 days PTO (vacation + sick) + Quarterly bonuses (approx. 40 hours of pay per quarter, based on profitability) + Profit sharing (approx. $10,000 once fully vested/direct) + Performanceu2011based salary adjustments + Extensive training and mentorship; company invests heavily in development + Rapid company growth (from 3 to 200 employees in 15 years; revenue from $20M to $200M) + Financially strong with a bonding capacity exceeding $100M + Wellu2011established in industrial installation and expanding into full designu2011build integration Ideal Candidate This role is perfect for someone who is: + Outgoing, confident, and comfortable interacting with clients + Organized and able to manage their own workload + A strong communicator who can represent the team professionally + A u201cdoeru201d who can sit down and complete tasks independently + Excited about technical, handsu2011on project work + Looking for a longu2011term career path into Project Management Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aurora, CO.
