Packaging Technician

Job Title: Packaging Mechanic Job Description We are seeking a skilled Packaging Mechanic to perform make-ready and line setup tasks, ensuring efficient and smooth operation of filling, labeling, and coding equipment. The role involves conducting complete setup and changeovers, installing tooling, adjusting guides and nozzles, and verifying components for production readiness. Responsibilities + Perform complete setup and changeovers on filling, labeling, and coding equipment. + Install tooling, adjust guides/nozzles, mount film/label rolls, configure print files, and set sensor positions. + Conduct line clearance and verify all components match batch startup checklists, authorizing the line for production. + Operate and monitor filling, capping, crimping, and in-line labeling modules. + Make mechanical and electronic adjustments to maintain speed and product quality. + Address line stoppages and escalate larger issues when necessary. + Respond quickly to alarms and error codes. + Log production data including output, downtime, and machine settings. + Coordinate with maintenance if technical issues exceed operator scope. Essential Skills + Experience operating multi-equipment packaging or filling lines. + Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform changeovers and troubleshooting. + Understanding of GMP, quality checks, and production processes. + Effective communication and organizational skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Proficiency with labeling equipment, including setting up label rolls, calibrating sensors, and adjusting label position. + Ability to maintain label application accuracy and resolve jams or skew issues. + Experience with packet machines, including setting up forming tools, sealing jaws, cutting assemblies, and film rolls. + Skills in monitoring seal integrity, film registration, fill weight, and overall pouch quality. + Knowledge of semi-automatic filling line operations for specialty formats or small-batch production. + Competence in coding equipment, including loading/editing batch, expiry, and lot codes.
