Press Brake Operator

Job Title: Press Brake Operator Job Description The Press Brake Operator will work with the fabrication team to set up and operate Press Brake machines, specifically Amada brand, to produce sheet metal parts. The role involves reading blueprints and drawings to accurately set up equipment, selecting appropriate tooling and machine settings for specific parts, and ensuring that the machines bend, form, and fabricate metal parts to precise tolerances. The operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to ensure they meet quality standards and handling necessary documentation. Responsibilities + Assist the fabrication team in setting up and operating Press Brake machines. + Use Amada brand machines to produce sheet metal parts. + Read blueprints and drawings to determine proper equipment setup. + Select the correct tooling and machine settings for specific parts. + Ensure machines bend, form, and fabricate metal parts to specified tolerances. + Inspect parts to verify they meet quality standards. + Handle documentation and record keeping as required. Essential Skills + 1-3 years of experience with Press Brake operation. + Ability to read blueprints and drawings. + Strong understanding of sheet metal, blueprint reading, and punch press. + Experience with CNC press brake. Additional Skills & Qualifications + 4 years of experience with Amada machines is preferred. + Basic understanding of CNC programming is a plus. + Understanding of measuring instruments. + Experience in sheet metal manufacturing is advantageous. Work Environment The position is located in a brand new manufacturing facility with opportunities on both the first and second shifts. The first shift operates Monday-Thursday from 6am to 4:30pm, with occasional early morning hours on Fridays. The second shift runs Monday-Thursday from 4:00 pm to 2:30 am, with some mid-morning hours on Fridays and possibly on Saturdays. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Amesbury, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
