CNC Lead Operator Job Description We are seeking a skilled CNC Lead Operator to join our team on the 2nd shift, from Monday to Friday, 3:30pm to 11:00pm. The role involves operating CNC machines to produce high-quality production parts and assemblies, as well as manual machines like saws, mills, and lathes. You will position parts using various fastening devices, operate hand-held, electrical, and pneumatic tools, and use lift equipment as needed. Precision measuring tools will be utilized to ensure accuracy in production. Responsibilities + Operate CNC machines and produce production parts and assemblies. + Operate manual machines such as saws, mills, and lathes. + Position parts using various fastening devices. + Use hand-held, electrical, and pneumatic tools. + Operate lift equipment as needed. + Recognize material types and adjust equipment accordingly. + Identify worn tooling and change in machines as required. + Verify accuracy of completed products and perform batch inspections. + Report defective materials, discrepancies, and process malfunctions. + Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to safety regulations. + Complete necessary paperwork accurately, including production sheets. + Set up CNC machines by loading tools, fixtures, and materials. + Verify machine settings and program parameters for accuracy. + Provide work direction and guidance to other workers. + Act as a supervisor in absence of Production Supervisor. + Answer questions and train new and current employees. + Produce high-quality products consistently according to specifications. + Understand assembly processes and component movements. + Use computers and precision measuring tools as required. + Read and interpret blueprints. + Be proficient in CAD. + Operate all hand tools, machines, and equipment successfully with minimal supervision. + Work as a productive team member contributing to organizational success. + Handle fast-paced work environments. Essential Skills + 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in a manufacturing environment. + Proficiency in CNC operation, lathe, mill, blueprint reading, and using micrometers. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Ability to perform setup duties in all areas of responsibility in absence of setup staff. + Experience in providing work direction and acting as a supervisor. + Proficiency in using CAD software. + Ability to complete paperwork accurately and timely.
