Summary: The Summer Research Fellowships are offered on a competitive basis to students enrolled at Rush University between the first and second years to work on research projects with Rush faculty in basic science, clinical research, and community service arenas. Students accepted in the program are provided a paid position to work full-time during the summer before the second year of medical school. Job Qualifications: u2022 A Bachelor's Degree or higher is required u2022 Currently enrolled as a student at Rush Medical College is required. u2022 Must be in good academic standing as reported by the Office of Integrated Medical Education. u2022 Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail preferred. u2022 Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate in a professional manner. u2022 Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, set goals, manage complicated tasks, and work with minimal supervision. u2022 Demonstrate professionalism in dealing with confidential information. u2022 This position may require some evenings and weekends. u2022 Must complete all HR hiring requirements in a timely matter and a physical. Responsibilities: u2022 Responsible for their approved research study overseen by a principal investigator. u2022 Responsible for all data collection and recording for their study. u2022 Maintains research records and documents relating to their study. u2022 May need to work with the principal investigator(s) to recruit patients for studies, including study advertisements and marketing in line with Rush policies and procedures. u2022 Ensure compliance with protocol guidelines and requirements of regulatory agencies. u2022 May need to confer with study participants to explain purpose of the study. u2022 Must complete and maintain all documentation and reporting of adverse events. Recommend corrective action as appropriate. u2022 Responsible for oral or written reports to both the study sponsor and program faculty director. u2022 May need to work with principal investigator on IRB, ACUC, filing and compliance. u2022 Coordinate the development of forms, questionnaires for the application of research techniques.
