Requirements Job Overview The Associate Registrar for Exams in the LAW Office of the Registrar at Georgetown University bears direct responsibility for the administration of academic policies related to exams. Exam administration is a high stakes and high touch process at Georgetown Law, and the position oversees all aspects of exams, including advising faculty and students, as well as enhancing existing and developing new procedures and services to address emerging needs of the Law Center community. Incumbent works with the Registrars to develop and implement policies and processes that lead to efficient and successful exam administration events. As more fully described below, areas of responsibility include the following: final exam administration; accommodated exam administration in collaboration with the Office of Accessibility Services; mini-course and special exam administration; exam conflict and exam relief; exam review, and communications and publications connected with exams. There are other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean and Registrar to ensure efficient office operations dedicated to excellent stakeholder service and support. Duties include but are not limited to: + Lead administration of 10,000+ final exams each semester, ensuring fairness, accessibility, and academic integrity. + Collaborate with faculty on exam creation, guidelines, and delivery. + Oversee accommodated exams in partnership with the Office of Accessibility Services, maintaining confidentiality and equity. + Manage exam scheduling, conflict resolution, and student relief requests with fairness and transparency. + Collaborate with Capitol Campus UIS partners to implement and enhance exam technologies as well as evaluate new systems and tools. + Supervise and develop staff, fostering a collaborative, student-focused team culture Work Interactions This position reports directly to the Assistant Dean and Registrar. The incumbent directly manages the Exam Team, which includes 3 full-time staff members. The team members are the Associate Director of Exams, the Manager of Exams, Grades, and VA Services, and the Academic Coordinator for Exams, Grades, and VA Services. The Associate Registrar for Exams also supervises and trains approximately 50 temporary proctors brought in to support in-class exam administration. To ensure effective, efficient, and successful exam administration each semester, this position works directly with critical LAW Community stakeholders u2013 students, faculty, and campus departments. The Associate Registrar for Exams works directly with students and their individual exam concerns and needs. As a lead exam representative of the Office of the Registrar, which is responsible for the administration of the Law Center's academic policies, this position is expected respond timely, accurately, kindly and fairly to student and faculty issues. The person must be able to use good judgment in presenting student concerns to the Assistant Dean and Registrar and proposing changes to existing policies or procedures in response to those concerns. These issues and concerns often directly impacts students' academic success and the facultyu2019s ability to create, submit, and grade their exams. Requirements and Qualifications + Bacheloru2019s degree + 5 -7 years of progressively responsible management experience + Academic and/or personal advising experience + Strong commitment to outstanding customer service with a broad range of stakeholders + Proven track record in project management + Professional, calm demeanor and ability to negotiate positive outcomes in the midst of highly stressful situations + Proficiency in and comfort with Microsoft Suite of products + Demonstrated exemplary communication, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills + Ability to work independently, yet collegially, with fellow staff members and with stakeholders, including students, faculty, and other administrators + Self-motivated with the capacity for handling multiple tasks simultaneously + An appreciation of and a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information Preferred Requirements and Qualifications + Preference for a Master's degree or Juris Doctorate degree + Preference for team management experience in a higher education setting + Preference for technical knowledge and experience in systems used by higher education institutions + Proficiency in database management, including reporting/analysis u2013 working knowledge and prior use of Banner and Cognos.
