Hiring: Healthy Homes Program Specialist About the Healthy Homes Program Specialist Position Full-time Non-exempt Deadline: Rolling Weu2019re seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focusedHealthy Homes Program Specialist to join our Community Energy team. In this role, youu2019ll coordinate community-based efforts across Buffalo and Western New York to prevent and eliminate lead poisoning while advancing energy efficiency and healthy housing initiatives. This role combines direct tenant advocacy, grassroots outreach, program implementation, and cross-sector coordination to ensure frontline and low-to-moderate income communities have access to safe, healthy, and energy-efficient homes. What Youu2019ll Do + Lead and coordinate organizational efforts to remediate and eliminate lead hazards in frontline communities, prioritizing vulnerable populations. + Actively participate in the Lead Safety Taskforce and other relevant professional groups and coalitions. + Obtain and maintain relevant certifications related to lead safety and healthy homes initiatives. + Develop and deliver educational presentations, workshops, and trainings on lead prevention and tenant rights. + Coordinate with in house Communications team on lead-focused social media and marketing content to support outreach, education, and advocacy efforts + Conduct application intake, site visit coordination, walkthrough scheduling, and customer follow-up. + Educate residents about energy efficiency, solar, and related healthy homes programs, including financing options, contractor roles, and program benefits. + Manage customer projects and coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure successful implementation. + Coordinate with grassroots, institutional, and government partners to expand awareness, referrals, sponsorships, and program participation. + Conduct grassroots outreach, canvassing, tabling, and one-on-one engagement to recruit program participants in low-to-moderate income communities. + Build and maintain relationships with grassroots advocacy organizations and coordinate joint efforts when appropriate. + Attend required program trainings and implement continuous improvement of outreach and project management systems. + Input and maintain accurate data in Salesforce and shared systems. Who Weu2019re Looking For + Associateu2019s (in community planning, business, or related, preferred) OR equivalent combination of education and experience + Two (2) years of related/transferable work experience + Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with work order systems or Salesforce a plus. + Knowledge of local and state housing policy and tenant rights. + General knowledge of lead poisoning prevention and exposure pathways. + Experience in coalition building, outreach, or community organizing helpful. + Familiarity with residential construction basics orwillingness to learn. + Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification preferred. + Multilingual proficiency highly preferred. + Valid driveru2019s license and access to reliable transportation required. + Must reside locally in Buffalo, NY area, able to work on site. + Willing to work evening and weekend hours, as necessary for outreach, programming. This position is a bargaining unit member of the PUSH Buffalo Staff Union.
