Requisition Number SWI-7580 Location City Springfield Massachusetts, FT/ PT Full-time Shift Schedule 3rd shift: 11:00 pm - 7:15 am Description:Security Officers are responsible for carrying out all assignments,programs and special instructions involving fire and security personnelto insure full and adequate protection of Company property andpersonnel. Officers must use good judgment when conductinginvestigations and preparing reports relating to security issues.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Control access to the innerperimeter of S&W property. Control entrance and exit of all personneland visitors. Monitor CCTV and alarm systems and respond to alarmnotifications. Alert appropriate personnel in the event of emergencies.Prepare written security reports documenting important occurrencesduring the shift. Attend regular training to maintain MA LTC andfirearms proficiency. Cooperate with local police, fire and civildefense agencies. Make recommendations for continuous improvement to S&WSecurity Program. Regular attendance (as defined in our policies) isrequired. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: Additionalresponsibilities may include providing ancillary support in case ofemergency. Assist in maintaining a clean and clutter free workstation.Department specialty assignments and/or special projects assigned toindividuals. QUALIFICATIONS:Experience, Competencies and Education Minimum 1-3 years' securityexperience required; may substitute law enforcement and/or militaryexperience for security experience. High School diploma/GED required;College degree preferred. Candidates must be at least 21 years of ageand be able to perform the duties required of the position. Candidatesmust possess a MA Class A License to carry Firearms. Candidates must bea citizen of the US. Candidates cannot have been convicted or pled nolocontendere to a felony or job-related crime or a state or federalmisdemeanor involving the use or attempted use of physical force or theuse or threatened use of a firearm. Candidates must possess a validdriver's license. Candidates must pass a background investigation anddrug screening. Candidates must have the ability to complete and passFirst Responder training and Firearms Safety Assessment prior to or uponhire. Candidates must have the ability to complete and pass an annualjob scenario based Physical Assessment Test (PAT) upon hire. Candidatesmust have the ability to work a minimum of two (2) overtime shifts permonth. Language Skills Good command of the English language anddemonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills.Secondary language is a plus. WORK ENVIRONMENT:While performing theduties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weatherconditions, including temperature extremes, during day and nightshifts.Work is often performed in emergency and stressful dividual is exposed to hearing alarms and hazards associated withfighting fires and rendering emergency medical assistance, includingsmoke, noxious odors, fumes, chemicals, liquid chemicals, solvents andoils. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, inhigh, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humidconditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals,risk of electrical shock, and vibration. It is reasonably anticipatedthat the individual will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens and otherinfectious materials in the course of their duties. full details at
