Job Title Entry-Level Data Center Infrastructure Technician Job Overview We are seeking an Entry-Level Data Center Infrastructure Technician to support the installation, decommissioning, and maintenance of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on technical experience, including low-voltage cabling, desktop support, IT support, electrical work, or similar technical fields. Successful candidates are detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in structured environments while following safety, quality, and operational standards. Key Responsibilities + Assist with installation and decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in Data Centers + Pull, route, dress, and label copper and fiber cabling (Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic) + Support rack-and-stack of network and server equipment + Maintain clean and organized work areas within the Data Center + Follow safety procedures, quality standards, and industry best practices + Read and interpret basic blueprints, floor plans, and work orders + Identify live vs. decommissioned cabling under supervision + Perform basic copper and fiber testing with provided tools (training provided) + Document work performed and maintain accurate paperwork + Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time + Provide status updates to leads and supervisors Required Skills & Background + Any technical, hands-on experience, including but not limited to: + Low-voltage cabling + Desktop or IT support + Electrical or construction-related work + Telecommunications + Field service or technical installations + Ability to use basic hand and power tools + Willingness to learn Data Center standards and processes + Basic understanding of customer service principles + Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment + Comfortable working in Data Centers, including raised floors and ladder racks Nice-to-Have (Not Required u2013 Training Provided) + Exposure to copper or fiber cabling + Familiarity with racks, network equipment, or patch panels + Basic understanding of wiring schemes or cable testing + Experience reading diagrams, layouts, or technical documentation + Interest in growing a career in Data Center or network infrastructure Physical & Work Environment Requirements + Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift equipment as needed + Comfortable working in active Data Center environments + Ability to work above and below raised flooring Reporting Structure + Reports to the Operations Manager + Takes direction from Technicians, Lead Technicians, and Senior Technicians Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fort Wayne, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
