Sarasota County's Stormwater Department is looking for an enthusiastic and qualified Project Manager to join our team and help lead vital projects that protect and enhance our local water systems. If you're driven by the desire to work in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment where your skills can help shape the future of Sarasota's waterways, we want to hear from you Stormwater Projects/Programs + Manage and/or coordinate projects supporting and ensuring alignment with Commission and Stormwater initiatives and programs. + Support watershed management planning with scientific information and implementing environmental solutions. + Identify grant funding opportunities, prepare applications and reports, and track deliverables and milestones. + Manage capital projects in cooperation with the Capital Projects department, as owner representative. + Manage planning, implementation, and tracking of projects with specified budget and deliverables including setting goals, design, contract management, data gathering, data management, and presentations. + Oversee and inspect consultant assignments including development of scopes of work, fee schedules, bid specifications and contracts; verify adherence to permit and grant requirements; review and approve deliverables and invoices. + Prepare procurement work scopes and bid documents, and coordinate/manage solicitation process. + Schedule items for Commission review; prepare Commission meeting materials/packet and oversee review process. + Communicate with community stakeholders and partners. Prepare and deliver presentations to audiences including the Commission, local government agencies, regional audiences (conferences), and community/citizen groups. Navigable Waterways Maintenance Management Program + Conduct daily operations including communicating and meeting with residents about potential projects; consultant oversight for feasibility studies, permitting, and review of deliverables and invoices; coordinate with WCNID. + Schedule items for Commission review; prepare Commission meeting materials/packet and oversee review process. + Coordinate with Capital Projects department to solicit design and construction contractors, and construction progress. + Support staff liaison to Waterways Advisory Committee including, but not limited to, communicating with members; scheduling quarterly meetings; creating agendas and meeting minutes; processing applications; updating County calendar and vacancy advertisement. Support Science Initiatives + Provide professional expertise for environmentally focused water quality, biological, and sediment abatement projects. + Provide professional input for project planning and implementation for water quality impairments and level of service, TMDLs, scallop restoration, watershed management plans, natural habitat improvements, biological indices, GIS mapping, pollution prevention, bacterial source tracking, permit applications, database management, water supply, sediment management, or stormwater retrofits. + Plan, develop, conduct, and present special studies related to projects. + Provide professional input and support for capital improvement project post-construction monitoring and other Stormwater programs. This may include field monitoring from a marine vessel and the use of snorkel or scuba equipment. Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. E-Work/Hybrid Work: Currently, this position is eligible to e-work up to 2 days per week After you complete your first six months, and contingent on work requirements and other factors, youu2019ll be eligible for this fantastic benefit. About You Minimum Qualifications: + BS degree from an accredited college or university in Biological/Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Project Management, or related field. + Project experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis, depending on the type of experience.
