Athletic Staff - Temporary PT Print ( Apply ufeff Athletic Staff - Temporary PT Salary $14.00 Hourly Location Park & Cultural Services, GA Job Type Temporary Job Number 2026-00031 Department Recreation, Parks & Cultural Services Division Athletics Opening Date 03/24/2026 Closing Date Continuous + Description + Benefits Job Summary & General Information Under general direction of Recreation Supervisor II or designee, performs a variety of duties pertaining to the operation and administration of youth and adult athletic programs. This is a non-exempt position. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities Essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation. In addition, specifications are intended to outline the minimum qualifications necessary for entry into the class and may not necessarily convey the qualifications of incumbents within the position. + Provides administrative support in organizing/assembling data/documentation and filing information/records relating to athletic programs. + Assists internal and external customers by answering questions about department programs, facilities, and services, processing activity registrations/enrollments, printing rosters, compiling scoresheets, etc. + Performs light maintenance including but not limited to picking up trash, replacing paper goods and trash bags, sweeping lobby and gym floors, keeping kitchen and scorekeeper areas clean, keeping concession and storage areas clean and free of debris/clutter, etc. + Monitors the recreation facility by supervising physical facility and grounds; monitors athletic practices and games to ensure safety of participants; prepares facility for play by lowering or moving goals, player benches, corner flags, possession arrow, scoreboard, etc.; operates scoreboard; records and reports game scores. + Completes accident/incident reports as needed. + Secures facility at the end of the day including turning off lights, computer, copy machine, etc. as applicable, and turning off lights; ensures facility doors and storage rooms are locked. + Communicates with full time athletic staff as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems. + Operates a variety of office equipment including copiers, facsimile machine, scanner, calculator, and computer to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data; performs data entry functions by keying data into computer system. + Maintains first aid practices and principles. + Works department special events as needed + Performs related duties as required or assigned. Minimum Qualifications Combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job qualifies. + Must be at least 16 years of age and have basic knowledge of athletic league rules and regulations. + Must be willing to work varying hours, including afternoons, evenings, weekends and/or holidays assigned. STATEMENT OF DRESS CODE POLICY Temporary Part-Time Athletic Staff are expected to adhere to the City of Alpharetta Dress Code Policy with the following exceptions: + The wearing of department-approved staff attire (shirt, sweatshirt, etc.) is required. In some instances, staff may wear a nice collared shirt provided that the staff name badge is prominently displayed. + Hats must be worn with the bill facing forward and may not contain any offensive or inappropriate words or logos. + Nice jeans, capris, bermuda and athletic shorts (no Soffe shorts) are allowed. Jeans must not be ripped, torn, worn, or have holes in them. + Tennis shoes or basketball shoes are allowed and must be neat and clean. Open-toe shoes are not permitted. STATEMENT OF TRAINING REQUIREMENTS Under the supervision of the Recreation Services Manager, full time staff are expected to assist in providing the necessary training to the Temporary Part-Time Athletic Staff at their specific sites. This training may include but not be limited to the following: + Facility operations u2013 closing and opening procedures + Safety and security plan, including building security and evacuation plan + Customer service skills + Telephone/email inquiries + Registration procedures + Rental procedures + CPR/First Aid + General City policies such as Sexual Harassment Policy, Drug/Alcohol Policy, Diversity, Technology Policy, Mandatory Reporting of Suspected Child Abuse, Concussion Awareness Policy and Procedures, Three Person Rule, Participant and Spectator Code of Conduct, etc. + Membership (ID) procedures (when applicable) It is expected that all Temporary Part-Time Athletic Staff be trained on the facility operations during their first full week of work unless specified otherwise.
