Foundry Plant ManagerLocation: Belding, MIOverview of the Opportunity Our client is seeking a hands-on, driven Plant Manager to lead critical foundry operations across melting, casting, and mold maintenance. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring production runs safely, efficiently, and on schedule while maintaining strict quality standards. This position is ideal for a manufacturing leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys developing teams, and has a strong focus on continuous improvement. You'll play a key role in shaping operational performance, mentoring frontline leaders, and driving measurable results across multiple , coach, and develop supervisors and team leaders across melting, casting, and mold maintenance operationsOversee daily production activities to meet targets related to safety, quality, output, and costConduct regular safety inspections and enforce compliance with workplace safety standardsMonitor production metrics, including yield, quality, and efficiency, and report on performanceDrive accountability for employee performance, including attendance, productivity, and safety adherenceCoordinate training and development initiatives aligned with standard operating proceduresEnsure compliance with internal policies, GMP standards, and operational proceduresIdentify process improvement opportunities and implement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce wasteCollaborate cross-functionally to resolve production challenges such as downtime or staffing gapsEnsure smooth shift transitions with clear communication and minimal operational disruption QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required; additional education is an asset2-5 years of leadership experience in foundry or heavy manufacturing environmentsExperience overseeing melting, casting, or mold maintenance operationsStrong understanding of foundry processes and production workflowsKnowledge of workplace safety regulations and best practicesProven ability to lead teams, prioritize tasks, and solve operational challengesStrong communication, organizational, and leadership skillsPreferred ExperiencePost-secondary education in a related fieldFamiliarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as 5S or Lean principlesExperience working in high-temperature industrial environmentsDemonstrated success in driving process improvements and cost reductionsExperience managing multi-shift operationsWork Environment & Physical RequirementsAbility to work in a hot, industrial settingCapable of standing and walking for extended periods (up to 12 hours)Ability to lift varying weights as requiredMust be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)What Success Looks LikeA strong safety-first culture with consistent complianceReliable production output that meets or exceeds targetsEngaged, well-trained teams with clear accountabilityContinuous improvements in efficiency, quality, and cost controlTitles Encouraged to ApplyFoundry SupervisorCasting ManagerProduction Manager (Manufacturing)Melt Shop SupervisorOperations Manager (Industrial/Manufacturing)Process Improvement SupervisorManufacturing Team Lead
