Registered Nurse Surgical Specialists

Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to oversee the colonoscopy process in our general surgery practice. This is an office based role.Maintain colonoscopy referral poolReview patient medical histories and medication lists to identify risk factorsConduct pre-procedure patient assessments and interviewsProvide detailed instructions regarding bowel preparation, medication management, and procedure expectationsCoordinate scheduling of procedures with surgical team and facility staffEnsure all required diagnostic tests and clearances are completed and documentedComplete pre-certification with insurance companiesFollow up with patients regarding pathology results and additional care requirementsCoordinate follow-up appointments and referrals as neededMaintain an organized log for patients needing repeat colonoscopiesWork cooperatively with all team members to ensure efficient office operationsCompletion of an accredited school of nursing with subsequent Indiana Registered Nurse licensureKnowledge of colonoscopy procedures and related care protocolsExcellent communication and organizational skillsElectronic medical record proficiencyBLS CertificationThe above statements are intended to describe the functions and related requirements of persons assigned to this job.
