The Patient Service Representative (PSR) supports the mission of People's Community Clinic (PCC) by coordinating the flow of patients through the front office in a manner that reflects superior customer service and ensures timely patient care. PSRs work collaboratively with all internal and external customers in compliance with each of the PCC core values. Location:919 E 32nd Street, Austin, Texas, 78705 (Center for Women's Health in St. Davis).Compensation:$16.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience and qualificationsHours (Full Time):Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM and Tuesday and Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PMUnder the direction of the Operations Manager, this individual’s primary job responsibilities include:Greet patients promptly upon their arrival at the clinic, utilizing excellent customer serviceComplete the entire check-in process as patients arrive in a timely, efficient manner, and monitor daily appointment schedulesThoroughly review and update patient demographics, consents, insurance, and incomeEnsure the patient is screened by financial counselors if applicableAnticipate needs associated with all same-day visits (i.e. registration, including insurance verification, is completed)Maintain a well-organized work areaComplete the entire checkout processCommunicate effectively with back-office support staff and other departmentsFunction well as a team with the flexibility to adapt to daily changes in routine or assignmentsMonitor wait times in the waiting area and communicate delays to the patient and clinical staffManage late arriving patients per policy and no-show appointments as appropriateCollect co-pay and accurately reconcile daily cashComply with all front office policies and proceduresProcess medical records release requestsComply with attendance and punctuality requirementsEquipment is turned on and is prepared for the workday at the start of the shiftOccasional overtime and/or weekend hours may be requiredEducation:High school diploma/GED requiredSome college preferredExperience:Two years of experience working in a physician’s office or healthcare facilityExperience with medical billing and/or collections preferredCertificate/License: NoneKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bilingual in English/SpanishExceptional customer service skillsAbility to interact successfully with people from a variety of backgrounds and abilitiesBasic computer literacy, including working with databasesWorking knowledge of electronic medical records and practice management systemsAbility to multi-task in a high change environmentOur Benefits Include:18 PTO days per year & 11 paid holidaysMajor Medical Health Insurance Coverage.
