Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Glenside, Pennsylvania. This Contract to permanent position offers an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and compliance within the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will be skilled in regulatory filings, financial reporting, and maintaining internal controls. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare, review, and submit quarterly and annual financial statements and other required reports to the state in compliance with National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) guidelines. u2022 Compile and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards. u2022 Reconcile balance sheet accounts and promptly resolve any discrepancies. u2022 Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial transactions and reporting processes. u2022 Monitor evolving insurance regulations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. u2022 Collaborate with external auditors to support financial and operational audits. u2022 Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts, providing analytical insights on financial trends. u2022 Identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement. u2022 Participate in special financial projects as needed. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and billing processes. u2022 Strong proficiency in account reconciliation and general accounting functions. u2022 Solid understanding of financial reporting and regulatory compliance within the insurance industry. u2022 Ability to work with complex financial data and maintain high levels of accuracy. u2022 Excellent organizational and time management skills. u2022 Effective communication skills for liaising with auditors and regulatory bodies. u2022 Proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools. u2022 Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
