Weu2019re looking for an experienced and innovative visual storyteller to join the Starbucks Stories team in the Global Communications organization. This visual storyteller will play an important role in helping Starbucks craft and communicate its story for both external and internal audiences across a broad range of platforms, including social media, , Starbucks partner communications and in-person events. On this incredibly versatile team, you might be filming social videos in a Starbucks coffeehouse one day and boarding a plane to make a short film at Hacienda Alsacia, our coffee farm in Costa Rica, the next. The ideal candidate for this role is a well-rounded storytelling Swiss Army Knife and a curious, idea-rich, highly collaborative creator. Youu2019re able to embrace filming a quick-turn video or GIF of a delicious new beverage on your phone as wholeheartedly as you do capturing high-res, slow motion footage of a delicious new beverage or helping plan and film a short documentary with a full crew. Youu2019re as fluent in the latest immersive, digital media storytelling innovations as you are in emerging video editing trends on TikTok or whatu2019s garnering buzz at the most recent film festivals. You love meeting and connecting with new people, especially Starbucks green apron partners and customers in coffeehouses around the world. The Starbucks Stories team is tenacious and deeply multimedia, and includes photographers, filmmakers, video editors, writers, designers, social media strategists and web content managers. Our team, and this role, demand a team player who can thrive and hustle in a fast-paced environment and find clarity and focus in ambiguity. The person we hire for this role will report to the creative director of the Starbucks Stories team. As senior visual storyteller for Starbucks Stories, Global Communications you will: + Shoot, produce and edit innovative visuals in social-forward as well as short- and long-form formats. + Beyond editing, be able to do extensive post-production, including the optimization of photos and videos for the intended channels and platforms. + Be a proficient written communicator, able to write with clarity and conciseness, be it a social caption or a story pitch. + Embody the agility, curiosity, hustle and resourcefulness of a journalist u2013 a creative thinker with a point of view on stories and the ability to shape them from ideation to execution. + Ensure that production quality and aesthetics are consistent with team and brand standards. + Lead and evangelize evolving film and photo trends, opportunities, equipment and technical innovations. + Learn and practice team best practices for asset management and organization of videos and photos. + Live in the greater Seattle area and work in person at the Seattle Support Center Monday through Thursday each week (unless out on assignment). + Primarily work a Monday-Friday schedule but also flexible to occasionally work on weekends or evenings if thatu2019s when a story is happening. + Be able to do some travel, both national and international. Weu2019d love to hear from people with: + Five years or more professional experience working full-time in the field of brand storytelling, filmmaking and editing and photography. + Previous experience as a visual creator for a major brand, agency or news organization. + Bacheloru2019s degree in a visual medium, visual journalism or equivalent experience. + Deep knowledge of desktop editing software (e.g. Premiere Pro, After Effects) as well as native social editing tools and apps (Instaghram, TikTok, CapCut) and ability to seamlessly edit videos and photos, including sound and color corrections. + Knowledge in studio lighting and audio, as well as location shoots. + A track record of producing visual storytelling in a variety of settings u2013 breaking news, international events, brand stories u2013 including conception, story boarding, scripting, filming, post-production and composition. + Knowledge of current digital media production, equipment and processes, and digital asset management best practices. + Attention to detail, with an ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines. + Knowledge of storytelling techniques for all platforms, including social media. + Strong desire to grow and develop, learning additional storytelling platforms. + Able to work successfully independently but also as part of a team. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
