CAD Drafter Job Description As a CAD Drafter, your primary responsibility will be to generate layout drawings from customer-supplied CAD files, plans, and sketches, while ensuring the creation of accurate bills of material. This role involves substantial customer interaction, requiring regular communication with both customers and internal sales teams to clarify requirements. You will also be tasked with generating detailed production and part drawings, designing standard products as well as customer-specific applications, and managing your drawing workload. Additionally, you will provide essential engineering and technical support to sales, production personnel, and customers. The work is primarily intermediate-level CAD drafting, focusing on speed and efficiency in creating structures like fencing. Responsibilities + Generate layout drawings from customer-supplied CAD files, plans, and sketches. + Create accurate bills of material based on the drawings. + Interact regularly with customers and internal sales teams to clarify requirements. + Produce detailed production and part drawings. + Design both standard products and customer-specific applications. + Schedule and manage drawing workload efficiently. + Provide engineering and technical support to sales, production personnel, and customers. Essential Skills + Associates Degree in CAD or CAD Certificate. + Experience with AutoCAD. + Experience with SolidWorks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bridgeview, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
