About the Role This position supports a small prosthetic and orthotics office with close operational ties to the Grand Rapids location. The environment is fastu2011paced, highu2011volume, and at times stressful, making it essential for candidates to have strong resilience, independence, and exceptional customer service skills. You will be the first point of contact for patientsu2014primarily elderly individualsu2014and must demonstrate patience, empathy, and professionalism in every interaction. Key Responsibilities + Assist front desk operations including greeting guests, checking in patients, and managing waiting room flow. + Answer highu2011volume inbound phone calls and route callers appropriately based on their geographic location. + Provide courteous and prompt scheduling and patient registration. + Maintain accurate and complete patient documentation. + Learn and utilize proprietary software for patient and order management. + Verify insurance information using payer portals and collect detailed coverage information. + Process orders and maintain upu2011tou2011date status throughout a 30u2013120 day workflow cycle. + Make outbound calls to patients regarding order status and required followu2011ups. + Support communication and workloads for the Grand Rapids office as needed. + Adhere to strict attendance, punctuality, and dependability standards. Mustu2011Have Qualifications + Ability to work independently in a sometimes unstable, rapidly changing environment. + Strong job tenureu2014reliable, committed candidates are essential. + Healthcare administrative experience or insurance verification experience (verifying through portals, not automated systems). + Fastu2011paced customer service or CSR experience. + Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. + Ability to multitask effectively while managing stressful or emotional situations. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Ability to diffuse challenging interactions calmly and professionally. Niceu2011tou2011Have Qualifications + Call center experience (inbound/outbound). + Medical office experience. + Insurance or medical billing knowledge. + Experience working with elderly patient populations. + Faceu2011tou2011face customer service experience in addition to phoneu2011based work. Candidate Disqualifiers + Poor job tenure. + Handsu2011on clinical healthcare experience only, without administrative experience. + Experience limited to patient transport roles. Work Environment + Very fastu2011paced, high call volume. + Situations can be stressful; candidates must remain calm and composed. + Office specializes strictly in orthopedicu2011related needs. Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Battle Creek, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.15 - $20.00/hr.
