Sr. Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer to join one of our clients in the biotech industry. This engineer will play a key role in designing, maintaining, and scaling an enterprise level cloud and on prem infrastructure environment. The ideal candidate is a proactive, strategic thinker who can own complex solutions, collaborate across IT teams, and drive innovation in a mission critical environment. This is a hands on engineering role supporting high availability systems, automation efforts, modern authentication, virtualization, storage, cloud services, and enterprise security initiatives. Responsibilities Include: u2022 Build, maintain, and optimize enterprise cloud and on prem infrastructure systems across the entire solution delivery lifecycle u2014 from requirements and architecture to deployment and support. u2022 Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, and performance of mission critical systems. u2022 Develop automation scripts, implementation plans, and testing procedures to support reliable operations. u2022 Perform system hardening, patching, configuration management, monitoring, and alerting. u2022 Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues and coordinate with vendors and internal teams as needed. u2022 Manage virtualization solutions (VMware/ESXi), enterprise storage, and backup technologies to ensure robust capacity and performance. u2022 Administer Microsoft Server environments, Active Directory, Entra ID, Office 365, Azure, AWS, and authentication technologies (LDAP, SAML, NPS, SSO). u2022 Support network segmentation, firewall standards, ACLs, VPN, DNS, DHCP, FTP, SMTP, NFS, SNMP, BGP, SSH, and SFTP. u2022 Provide Tier 3 escalation support in partnership with the Service Desk. u2022 Evaluate new technologies, recommend improvements, and lead modernization initiatives. u2022 Mentor team members and support cross functional collaboration within the IT organization. u2022 Conduct security reviews, inspections, and monitoring to mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
